Tanto \u00e9 assim que o professor da <em>University of British Columbia<\/em> (UBC), Prof. Sidney Mindess, publicou, em 1994, um artigo denominado \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/aquarius.ime.eb.br\/~webde2\/prof\/ethomaz\/crf.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Concreto Refor\u00e7ado com Fibras \u2013 Mito e Realidade<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um desses mitos era que as fibras distribu\u00eddas aleatoriamente na matriz de concreto contribuiriam para aumentar sua resist\u00eancia \u00e0 compress\u00e3o. Outro mito era que as fibras n\u00e3o podiam substituir a armadura convencional. Um terceiro mito era o de que n\u00e3o havia um m\u00e9todo consensuado para caracterizar os efeitos das fibras no comportamento estrutural do concreto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esses e outros mitos foram rebatidos por <strong>David Oliveira<\/strong>, professor da Universidade de Sidney, na Austr\u00e1lia, em sua palestra para os inscritos no <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibracon.org.br\/eventos\/62cbc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">62\u00ba Congresso Brasileiro do Concreto<\/a><\/strong>, f\u00f3rum nacional de discuss\u00f5es
