Entrou no curso de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da antiga Universidade do Brasil, hoje Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, onde se graduou em 1961.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seu primeiro est\u00e1gio ocorreu no escrit\u00f3rio de engenharia civil e sanit\u00e1ria Francisco Saturnino de Brito, que funcionou no Rio de Janeiro at\u00e9 1978, onde aprendeu urbanismo na pr\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rec\u00e9m-formado, trabalhou por um ano na construtora Kobe,&nbsp;onde teve a chance de aprender sobre as condicionalidades do projeto. Em seguida, decidiu criar seu pr\u00f3prio escrit\u00f3rio nos fundos da casa dos pais, em Botafogo, local em que a empresa permanece at\u00e9 hoje, ocupando a totalidade do im\u00f3vel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paralelamente aos trabalhos no escrit\u00f3rio, ingressou na Secretaria de Obras da prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro, onde atuou intermitentemente at\u00e9 1973, quando projetou os laborat\u00f3rios para o Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia (Inmetro) e ganhou o concurso para o projeto do SESC Madureira, que tiveram grande repercuss\u00e3o em sua carreira. Com o<strong> Programa Rio Cidade, <\/strong>interven\u00e7\u00e3o urban\u00edstica para a requalifica\u00e7\u00e3o de importantes eixos vi\u00e1rios e comerciais da cidade lan\u00e7ado pela Secretaria Municipal de Urbanismo, em 1993, \u00cdndio da Costa se juntou ao seu filho, Guto \u00cdndio da Costa, formado em design industrial, para participar do concurso p\u00fablico para propostas metodol\u00f3gicas de interven\u00e7\u00e3o no bairro do Leblon.
