Ele j\u00e1 participou de diversos projetos de controle da qualidade de pontes, como a COST 1406 (Coopera\u00e7\u00e3o Europeia em Ci\u00eancia e Tecnologia), no qual participaram acad\u00eamicos, consultores, construtores e contratantes de 57 pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A COST 1406 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cost.eu\/actions\/TU1406\/\">https:\/\/www.cost.eu\/actions\/TU1406\/<\/a>) emitiu, em 2015, v\u00e1rios relat\u00f3rios sobre a situa\u00e7\u00e3o das pontes em diferentes pa\u00edses e como se fazia sua gest\u00e3o. De seu trabalho, surgiu um protocolo de controle da qualidade de obras de arte especiais, que introduziu a metodologia dos indicadores-chave de desempenho para tomar decis\u00f5es de interven\u00e7\u00e3o, j\u00e1 introduzido em pa\u00edses como Eslov\u00eania, Chile e \u00cdndia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para o futuro, o Prof. Jos\u00e9 Matos sugere que as normas t\u00e9cnicas de gest\u00e3o de pontes adotem modelos de resili\u00eancia, com escopo maior que o dos atuais modelos de risco.
